Whether you are hosting your own BBQ or going to someone else’s, this is a great hamburger alternative to try.
Wash 1 or 2 Portobello mushrooms per person – wash them and put aside while you make the marinade
Marinade: make enough to do 6-10 mushrooms
In a container that is big enough to lay each mushroom flat mix the following:
- ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup sweet apple cider
- 1 tbsp. of each: dried rosemary & oregano
- 1 large garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp. sea salt
Set the mushrooms in this marinade mixture for 2-3 hours and turn twice during the time.
Take each mushroom out of the marinade and put on a Paraflex sheet in your dehydrator set at 105F for 1-2 hours. Or you can grill on the B-B-Q for 2-4 minutes before serving.
Serve with sliced tomatoes, onions, mustard, relish and lettuce. We used a multi grained bun.
