Indoor air quality
Many allergies and asthma can be caused by the poor quality of the air you breathe every day inside your home, office or malls. The symptoms you might experience are: eye, nose, and throat irritation; wheezing and coughing; fatigue; skin rash; severe allergic reactions, and possibly cancer.
Some of the things that cause these problems are:
- Mold
- Dust
- Poorly ventilated fireplaces
- Second-hand smoke (the National Cancer Institute states that of the chemicals identified in secondhand smoke, more than 50 have been found to cause cancer.)
- Construction materials such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and formaldehyde
Water quality
We need to be care not only about the water we drink but the water we bathe in. If you still have old pipes made from lead you could experience serious damage to the brain, kidneys, nervous system, hormonal problems may cause reproductive issues, and red blood cells.
- Old pipes made from lead
- Water stored in plastic bottle made from plastics containing the chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) (make sure all the plastics you use are BPA free)
- Water contaminants such as gasoline, oils, chemicals in pesticides, road salt, and animal waste
Food source quality
Most of the foods we buy from our grocery stores are not the best quality because they may be affected by the following:
- Use of chemical pesticides while they were grown
- Foods from the U.S.A. might be exposed to harmful x-rays when they cross the borders
- Most of the food has been harvested at least 1-2 weeks before we get it in our stores
- Fish has been exposed to mercury which can cause many health issue for us
Electromagnetic field exposure (EMF)
The world we live in today is crowded with electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, plasma TV’s and even the appliance we use to prepare our food might be enhanced with electronics. These things give off emissions that can lead to many health issues.
Sights and Sounds
Not only do we need to be aware of the things that can cause physical damage to us but we need to be aware of the emotional damage that can be caused as well. If we are exposed to a loud and dirty world we may have physiological issues that will lead to disease. A cluttered, noisy and dirty work place, school or home can cause confusion, anxiety and depression. These can lead to health issues of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke.
We can experience positive health benefits when we take action and improve our personal environment! I know that it is not always possible to change things in the big word we live in but if we concentrate on the space we individually use then there will be a bigger impact eventually as others see the good affects we have and they too start changing their personal space.
Thing we can do to improve our personal environment:
- Keep our homes and work place clean.
- Remove old construction (in many communities there is assistance for renovating if it improves the environment)
- Use only BPA free plastics for storing food and your water. Make our own healthy water by using a distiller
- Buy more organically grown foods from local farmers (if we do the price will eventually go down)
- Grow our own foods naturally in a small garden or in pots
- Eat a vegan lifestyle so we do not get the contaminants from the animal foods
- When we need new kitchen appliance choose ones that are energy efficient and use a Gia Universal Guard that will help to protect us from the negative emissions
- Always use the Gia Cell Guard to protect yourself from the emissions from your cell phones and never carry the cell phone on your body
- Turn down the volume whether you are talking or listening to the TV and radio
- I use our Antioxidants to help me when I am under stress – it is amazing how much more relaxed I am after taking them s they help with the free radical that are caused by stress, chemicals and emissions.
